RHA elects Steve Bowles as new Chairman

The Road Haulage Association's Board of Directors has elected Steve Bowles of Colnbrook-based Roy Bowles Transport as its new Chairman. Steve takes over from Willie Oliver who stepped down after his two-year term of office was completed.

"I would like to thank my fellow directors for the confidence they have shown in me by electing me as their new Chairman," said Steve Bowles. "I would also like to thank the past Chairman, Willie Oliver, for his outstanding contribution to the industry in general and thie RHA in particular over the past two years.  Willie will be a hard act to follow but I am confident that I will do both him and the Association justice.

"The RHA has many strong attributes, not least the knowledge and dedication of its staff. But its real strength lies within its membership. As the industry faces increasing regulatory pressures, my priority will be develop the interactive culture of the RHA. With the engagement of members, we can make the haulage operators' voice effective at local, national and European level.

Jonathan Bulmer of Cleveland-based Bulmer's Logistics, together with George Inch of DHL, Rugby, become Vice Chairmen.
