RHA Rescue & Recovery Group Chairman receives GreenFlag Gold Truck Award
The Road Haulage Association is delighted that the chairman of the Association’s Rescue and Recovery Group, Richard Goddard, has been presented with The GreenFlag Gold Truck Award.
The award, presented at the recent 25th Anniversary Dinner of the Institute of Vehicle Recovery, recognises Richard’s tireless contribution to the rescue and recovery industry and his continued support of the Institute in its programme of standards improvement.
Richard Goddard was more than a little surprised at the announcement and this was reflected in his acceptance speech. "It is a real honour to have received the recovery industry's most prestigious award. I have always held the Institute of vehicle Recovery in the very highest regard; their work and accomplishments in training and standards for rescue and recovery have been second to one! It also means a great deal to me to have received the GreenFlag award from all of GreenFlag's networks managers, not least Neil Roberts and Peter Williams who I have had the great pleasure of working with for many years. I have said on many occasions that the recovery industry never ceases to amaze me and, this award from the IVR firmly underlines those sentiments!
RHA Chief Executive Roger King was also delighted at the news: “The Rescue and Recovery Group is one of the newest sector groups within the Association. It is a group that is growing on an almost daily basis and we are delighted that Richard, as its Chairman has received this well-deserved award.
"Rescue and recovery operators have an extremely tough job and on far too many occasions, their work goes unnoticed. I sincerely hope that Richard’s award will raise awareness of their work - not just within the recovery sector but throughout the entire transport industry”.
