Sources Of Funding For Training

Document Actions
The funding information given on this page has been researched and supplied by the RHA Careers & Training Committee. It should be noted that this is a guide only and is not intended to be exhaustive. It should also be noted that in the majority of cases where funding is available it is paid to the approved Training Provider, not to the Employer or employee.

Jobcentre Plus

New Deal

Under the new deal, Jobcentre Plus (previously the employment service) may help fund the training of unemployed persons to C+E licence standard, prior to offering the candidate for work placement and ultimately full time employment.

An accredited training provider in partnership with the participating employer selects applicants to be trained. The employer commits to accepting the applicant for placement, providing an experienced driver or mentor and covering an agreed range of skills and experience including basic legal and operational knowledge and then more specialised skills as appropriate. Jobcentre Plus meets the applicant's training and living expenses in nearly all cases.
