Livestock Carriers

Open to any haulier who specialises in the carriage of livestock by road. Special RHA Conditions of Livestock are available which have become the industry standard.

The eligibility for membership of the Group is the movement of livestock, horses and other animals in specially constructed vehicles or containers. The Group meets three times a year at a central London location.

The Group's objective is to improve the efficiency and general standards of operation in the carriage of animals by road, with special reference to the welfare of the animals, for the benefit of members and their customers. The Group maintains close active liaison with agricultural interests and in particular The Animal Health And Welfare Division of MAFF and is regularly consulted by Government for its views on forthcoming animal transport legislation. Additionally the Group encourages it's members to actively participate in Farm Animal Welfare Liaison Groups run by District Veterinary Officers

The Group has recently revised the RHA Conditions of Carriage for Livestock which are available at a reduced rate to members of the Group.

The Group plays a major role in the organisation and overall success of the annual Agricon event which provides a social focus for the year.
