Waste Management Group
Hauliers regularly engaged in the carriage of waste, whether it be wet or dry, toxic or non-toxic, are eligible for membership of this Specialist Group.
The eligibility for membership of this Group is the active engagement in the carriage of waste by road and/or the disposal of waste. The Group meets three times a year at a central London location.
The Group provides members with information and advice relevant to regulations originating from the Environmental Protection Act 1990, proposals for European Union Directives and Waste Management Industry procedures for improving efficiency and safety during the collection, transportation and discharge of wastes and effluents for disposal at licensed sites.
The Group is a member of the Waste Industry Forum administered by the Institution of Civil Engineers and has established itself as a major consultee to the Government in dealing with regulatory matters applicable to the collection, transportation and engineering of waste for re-use, recycling, reclamation and final disposal.
The Group issues the RHA Conditions for Hire of Builders' Skips, which are free of charge to members of the Group.
